Mark Mitchell- Chapter President – Alberta, Valhalla Private Capital

Mark is an international finance and technology professional with experience across five countries and three continents, including four years in China. He currently serves as a General Partner at Weave VC, a Western Canadian focused early-stage venture capital firm backing companies building at the intersection of innovation and legacy industry. In addition, Mark serves as the Alberta President for Valhalla Private Capital, Western Canada’s oldest and most established Angel Investment network. Since 2020, Mark has played a Principal role in investing over $7M across 20 early-stage businesses. He has also directly assisted early-stage companies in raising more than $10M in private capital. Mark holds two master’s degrees (Ivey Business School, CEMS Organization) with academic focuses in Economics, Finance, and International Management

JP Rosevear– Partner and Fractional CTO, NuBinary

JP leverages 20 years of industry experience in startups and large enterprise companies with significant experience in a wide spectrum of industries including leadership roles at adtech startup Polar as well as leading teams at Novell and Mozilla. JP brings a strong focus on scalable, repeatable technology development processes to NuBinary.

Megan Sutherland– Director, Business Development, OKR

Meg is a connector of people, with a passion for learning about what drives people and helping to solve problems. Her 15 year career has spanned banking, non-profit, public service, oil & gas, to tech ecosystem partnership, bringing a deep understanding of people, systems, and problem solving. With a strong handle on how to leverage federal and provincial government incentive programs to prevent early dilution, along with a vast network of connections from SRED consultants and grants writers to capital partners and angel investment, Meg brings resources and connections to help startups develop a solid financing strategy at any stage of growth.
