Digital Main Street

Digital Main Street offers programs and services to help brick and mortar businesses achieve digital transformation. The program was initially built around an online learning platform, structured training programs, and Digital Service Squads, teams of highly trained recent graduates who help main street businesses grow and manage their business through the adoption of digital tools and technology.

Founded by the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) with direct support from the City of Toronto, Digital Main Street is also supported by a group of strategic corporate sponsors, including Google, MasterCard, Rogers, Microsoft, Intuit and Shopify. Building on the successful launch of the ShopHERE powered by Google program in May 2020, Digital Main Street(DMS), in partnership with FedDev Ontario and the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, announced its new Future Proof Program on August 19, 2020.

COVID-19 forced businesses across Ontario to close their doors this spring and many are looking for new and creative ways to attract business. With Future Proof, DMS aims to expand their support and create lasting change for small businesses across Ontario.

DMS Future Proof is designed to have regions explore what is possible when we work together. It offers three streams:

Haltech has appointed Lee St. James as the DMS Future Proof Program Lead for Halton region. If you have any questions about how your business or organization can participate in Digital Main Street, please reach out to Lee by email:

“Helping Main Street get back on its feet starts with supporting local small businesses to grow and adapt to today’s world. The Future Proof program will provide the support small businesses need to transform their operations to meet the challenges of today and opportunities of tomorrow.”

— The Honourable Prabmeet Sarkaria, Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction.
